AMISH BAR QUILT (Part 1)

AMISH BAR QUILT  (Part 1): I am currently hand quilting this top using a pre-marked whole cloth quilt top as the pattern for the quilting design. I do this by basting the top, batting (in this case a wool one), and backing together and putting it in the quilt frame upside down - in other words, the top (the Amish Bars) is currently on the bottom and the pre-marked "top" will ultimately be the back but is for now on the top so I can see the design. I am using a cream colored thread which will really show on the bar side. I guess it really will make a reversible quilt. It is queen size. I pieced the top over a long weekend during the summer and started quilting it on 8/3/2013.
UPDATE: This quilt has been in and out of the quilt frame several times over the past 4+ years, but today 2/24/2018 I put in the last quilting stitch. Now to bind it and make a tag. It looks good. We have had rain for several days and so I can't hang it out for a photo. Will get one on here as soon as I can.
