CRISIS PREGNANCY QUILTS (11)

April 2016:

The teen girls have completed 11 baby quilts to give to the local Crisis Pregnancy Center. Thanks to all those who gave time or supplies for this ministry.

These quilts are easy to piece and can be completed in about 1.5 hours from start to finish.  The squares are 8" and sewn 3 x 3 (yes, it is a big 9 patch) plus a 6" border all around.  About 1.5 yard of backing fabric will be enough for the back and self binding.  The batting can be one piece or several smaller pieces laid so they overlap.  These are tied with colorful yarn.

A note to all of those who say there is nothing for me to do in my community or church - there is always something to do. Find a niche and do it. Don't wait for someone to ask or suggest, you be the leader.

CRISIS PREGNANCY QUILTS (14)

The latest batch of 14 baby quilts that went to the local Crisis Pregnancy Center. Thanks to the teen girls at church who put borders on, tied and helped bind these. Thanks to all of you who donated supplies.

The quilts come out to be between 36" and 37" square which is the perfect size to be to use about a yard of fabric for the backing and not have to piece fabric together.  They are self bound, which means that the back is folded to the front and stitched down.
