WELSH BEAUTY WHOLECLOTH QUILT (Handquilted)

I hand quilted this during 2002 - 2005 a half hour a day. It has a silk top, wool batting, and a muslin back. Used 7+ spools of quilting thread. It is 90" x 108".

The design is based on the Prince of Wales insignia, which dates to the early 1300's and is a traditional pattern in Welsh quilting. Silk and a wool batting make for such easy hand quilting. This is a keepsake to pass on. By now, you would think I would be used to all the "oooo's and aaaaa's" this one gets when I show it off, but I always have to re-look at it to see what others see. This quilt is truly the queen of my collection and skill. (#434)

I bought a pre-printed top from The Stencil Company ( https://www.quiltingstencils.com/ ). I do a lot of business with this company and really am satisfied with the products I have gotten from them.
