VETERANS QUILTS: This batch of 5 lap quilts was done in June and sent to CSV (Christians Serving Veterans) in early July 2011. It's such a privilage to make quilts for our soldiers - sure wish more folks would get involved with making quilts for our vets.
The URL for CSV is: http://www.csvintheusa.com/index2.html
I am so glad you have come to visit my world of quilts and quilting. I am passionate about quilting - from buying the fabric through the last stitch. From beginner to expert, quilting should be fun and make you happy. It's a wonderful journey.

MINI BIRDS IN THE AIR
MINI BIRDS IN THE AIR: The first post of this quilt appeared on this blog April 1, 2010 after I had returned from a quilting holiday with my quilting buddy S.B. in beautiful Maine. I actually machine quilted it myself on April 18, 2011. It was bound soon after.
It was a fun project. I am thinking that considering how busy my life is continuing to be that making more mini and doll size is very practical because they will be a finished project. (#736)
Finished size: 22" x 28". Muslin back and poly batting.
Sassy the kitten insisted on sticking her behind and tail in the photo.

HOMESPUN ONE PATCH
HOMESPUN ONE PATCH:
I just love the feel and look of homespun fabric, it is just so homey. I went thru my homespun collection during the course of 2010 and cut 8" squares out of the green, blue, black, red and gray homespun.
I pieced it early in 2011 and it went together really quick. I had RLM machine quilt it in early 2011.
The back is an old fashioned looking blue with white flowers fabric which looks really neat opposite the homespun.
Finished size: 92" x 92".

Update 04/11/2024:
Today I gave this quilt to a woman at church who has been such an encouragement to me over the past few years. She has prayed for me too. She saw this quilt and said it reminded her of childhood and that it was cozy. Once she started "petting" it, I knew it was just a wonderful gift for her as a thank you for all she has done. So, it is now at the home of KS, Jasonville, IN. I know it will be loved and used.

VETERANS QUILTS
VETERANS QUILTS: Here are more lap quilts that we did for Quilts for Wounded Soldiers in 2009 and sent thru the local quilt guild. At this point, there were 3 of us working on them at my house because I have the room to allow for "workdays".
